Senior Partner and Advisory Leader, Numera
Transaction, technical accounting, and CFO leadership for management teams, sponsors, and boards.
Mike has spent 19+ years in accounting advisory leadership. He leads the Advisory practice at Numera and has run engagements for organizations with revenues from $200 million to more than $40 billion, across consumer, energy, utilities, mining, transportation, and logistics.
Mike started his career as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He came to accounting after that, spending the early part of his career at PwC as a Director in the United States and the United Kingdom, advising public and private companies on complex reporting matters, capital-markets activity, and significant organizational change.
He went on to serve as CFO to private-equity-backed businesses in energy, SaaS, and manufacturing. Clients get both: an operator who has carried the number, and a technical advisor who knows what the auditors will ask.
Transaction advisory across equity and debt offerings, acquisitions, carve-outs, and restructurings, on buy-side and sell-side mandates.
His teams have run quality of earnings and financial due diligence for buyers at every deal size, from SBA-financed search acquisitions through middle-market private equity.
Complex reporting matters, SOX implementation, SEC and PCAOB questions, and the work of getting a company's accounting ready for public-company scrutiny.
The work happens before the filing deadline, not after it.
Public company and private equity board and audit committee advisory for companies working through a transaction, a restructuring, or a change at the top of finance—including interim CFO and controller coverage while a finance function is between leaders.
